I did replace the brake on it several years ago....
So my question is what would cause it to leak?
Do need to take the tranny apart?
Worn out bushings bearings seals etc....

Ok thanks.... I will have to a take a closer look at it.......and will report back after that.....M Bailey wrote: Pappy, unless the needle bearing is shot, the seal can be replaced without pulling the transmission. If there's side to side play in the brake shaft it'll need a new bearing. The TORO part number for the seal is 100441 or go to NAPA and get an SKF7410, 0.75" Shaft Diameter 0.999" Bore Diameter 0.125" Width.

Has anybody else had to take a 8 apart and what gaskets did you replace?
Or should I wait till I open it to order anything?
Anybody have any pictures?

Well I don't see a seal on this....is that possible or is it really small..M Bailey wrote: Pappy, unless the needle bearing is shot, the seal can be replaced without pulling the transmission.
