I'm about to de-carbon my Tecumseh 10 hp and would like some opinions on the best way to do this. I'm un sure how to avoid getting some nasty stuff in the valve ports. This is my first de carbon, so any and all suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks

Don't know how bad yours may be but before I would tear it down I would try Yamaha Ring Free.

When I clean up the inside of engines me and Gary use a die grinder with sanding pad. We use on the top of the piston, top of valves, and the head. Keep the valves closed when doing it, and blast it with some air to get the loose sandy stuff off it when done.
