Thanks GT it took a little grinding and massaging to get it back in shape. I added the angle iron and clevis for the lift point. Here's what the PO welded to the top of the guard for a lift point..... yep it's a mower blade.

I think think these used a lift point that ended up going through the hole in the slot hitch....I ended up with something about the same.....I didn't trust the housing on mine....had some stress cracks and the rear supports were bent. Probably should have just did something similar to what you did. Then I would not have to switch hitches.
