New JET Equipment was created by Geno
I have a friend, actually the person I bought the mill and lathe from that gave me a price I couldn't refuse on some new equipment. He works at a large distributor in the neighboring town. I usually buy the old stuff and fix it up but for almost 1/3 the price for new I couldn't pass these up. They are $1,500.00 new each no matter where you go, Northern Tool, Amazon, ect, the retail is pretty fixed. For $550.00 each new how could I say no lol. Dad and I just got them back and unloaded. :smile2

I'll put some feedback on them once they've been put to work. :thumb1

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.

I spent yesterday afternoon at the welding shop working on some of their equip and building a stand to raise the drill press up about 16". It should put the work piece up close to eye level. It's way overbuilt but they were scraps so it didn't cost much of anything and the 1/4" thick 4" square tubing will make it real stable lol. All that's left is to clean it up, paint it and put the casters on it. :thumb1

It can also double as something I can put a car on and roll it around on. :rolling

Well we now have to redefine "Overbuilt" with a picture of this in the dictionary. It must weight more than the drill. :rolling4 :surprised :hi5

It is pretty heavy. :rolling When I was at the welding shop the owner told me that someone bought a bunch of 1/4" x 4 steel tubing pieces and they wanted it cut a certain length. Then they brought it back and said they measured 12" too long so they cut 12" off of each piece. Since they had already paid for it and didn't want it they left it there so he said I could have all of it I wanted. The real reason it is so over built is free stuff rules lol. :tounge2

I really like the height and ability to move it around. The first pic is taken with the camera at my eye level. The mounting kit came in yesterday and the cross slide vise will be here tomorrow, then it will be ready for work. Thumb1

Now I just need to do a little rearranging. :confused1
