Big Sale Has Started - UPDATED 07-31-25 (01 Apr 2025)

As some of you know my dad passed away 2 months ago today, on May 31, 2025. I posted it in the Members Only section when it happened. Thanks to all of you who have offered kind words on the forum, with phone calls, and visits in person during this time.

The Big Sale is on but not like originally planned, it is a by appointment type of thing now. I don't have the manpower, or the desire to do a big event like originally planned, I just need to sell a lot of parts that are taking up too much space here. I have been told and believe we are overloaded with Wheel Horse parts like no one has ever seen. Peeps have already been coming in from different parts of the country and buying a lot of stuff due to seeing the sale page, and seeing we are the only Wheel Horse only business in the USA that does things on the scale we do. The sale will continue for awhile until I free up some more space but you may not want to wait too long as things are being sold every day and there are limits to how many of certain parts will be sold.

As it says on the page it is still under construction and the page isn't finished yet. I've had a ton of calls for parts and the Big Sale Page may help answer some questions about what is here before peeps call. I hope that page is also clear that we DO NOT SHIP anything... This is a by appointment type of thing now. Be sure to call before you come to make sure the day isn't already full with peeps scheduled to come in, and make sure what you want is still available.

This is a truck hoist but I'm putting it on the big welding table.

A few weeks ago I lifted 7 transmissions, a Kohler starter generator engine, and some other things to put on a pallet and put outside to make room for the work on Tim's tractor I just finished and some other big jobs coming in.  Needless to say my back wasn't very happy about it.  A few days later I lifted Tim's 12 HP Kohler engine and put it on the bench and that did it in.  The chiropractor has me straightened back out but there was some real pain I haven't felt for many years that lasted about a week.  Realizing I wasn't superman anymore it was time to do something about it...

I ordered this and it arrived 3 days ago.  I started playing with it in spare time and seeing Tim's is done and getting picked up on Monday I'm going to try to wrap it up on Mon.  This will be a real back saver and make things a lot easier considering I'm the only one around here most of the time.  I still exercise every day but I do tend to overdo things at times...

The best place to put it out of the way was on the front corner of the table where the mag vise was.  The lift does 1,100 lbs which is more than I need.  The bench will hold it just fine.  The bench top is 2 sheets of 5' x 10' x 1/2" steel that weigh 1092 lbs each (2,184 total) let alone all the I beams and metal under the top.  The entire table weighs over 4,000 lbs.  I'll put a pic of the specs of it in the last pic, it's really versatile and has a really long reach at 220 lbs that will take care of Kohler engines and Wheel Horse rearends without a problem.

These pics are the start of things, more to follow later.

Holes are drilled, mess is cleaned up, and lift is mounted.  It folds down to save space but it's almost 7' off the floor so I'll prob just leave it pointed toward the press and lathe when not in use.  It came with a wired controller but it won't be used, it's getting a separate relay and wireless remotes put on it so I can be near the work piece when using it.  This is really important when putting a restored motor on a restored frame.  That's what was the last straw for my back doing it by hand when it went out...

I really like the decal in the last pic, gave me some ideas...

I thought today would be quiet, nope.

I bought an outboard battery box on Amazon for $12 and everything went inside it.  It had a divider in it for multiple size batteries but I used the divider to mount the circuit breaker, winch relay, and wireless control box in.  I can disconnect the plug at the top near the winch then charge the battery on the bench, or put the box somewhere out of the way until needed.  It would also make it easy to disassemble the crane if need be.

These pics show the parts, box, divider, the layout, and beginning of the project.

It's all finished up and working.  One of the best things ever added to the shop says my back...

The first 3 pics show how the electronics come out if they need something.  Unhook the battery, 2 wires for the volt gauge, the winch plug, and it comes right out.

Just a few more small things done to it lately.  The pulley made on the hoist cable was cut off and a link with a heavier swivel hook put on.  Now the hook can be changed if ever needed without having to cut something off.

I also thought it wouldn't be right to not have some Wheel Horse stuff on it...  The locking knob was changed to a Wheel Horse shifter knob, the end of a PTO grip was cut off to fit under it, and a Wheel Horse lift handle grip fit the swivel handle perfect.

All it really needs now is the orange pieces painted red...
