The D series has a vacuum pump that sometimes takes a while to get fuel to the engine after the tractor sits a while.. Always wanted to try an electric one....got one for a little over 15 bucks off ebay. They are bigger than I thought....kinda hard to find a good spot for them. Still have to wire it and add a new filter after the tank/before the pump. I did install a filter before the carb....a small one.

Really nice job Bob, looks like the prefect spot too.
Does that tractor have an oil pressure switch or a place to put one?

It does not have an oil pressure gauge. However one could be added....

I don't know much about the D's. Does that engine have a pressurized oil system?

Great job Bob, now that you have lots of fuel you can add a blower.

Nice job Bob, I'm thinking of doing the same thing on my 520H's. The only thing stopping me is finding a good place to mount the pump.
Keep us posted on how this works out.

If you have the pressurized system you can put an oil switch (not sender) in the engine that would shut off the electric pump after it starts. Something single terminal that can break the ground, or dual terminal to pass one of the pump wires through. Unless you want it to fun all the time the key is on.

I'm taking the vacuum pump off....I think it is weak....so I need the electric one to run all the time.... Good idea though. Something like a primer.....right?
