Well its not red now but was earlier......when I go to recent posts or topics is when I get the 404 error.

Even this morning? when you click on "Recent Topics" you still get the 404 error?

Also just a quick note while we work through the bugs in the new software.

If you get stuck in a shadowbox or the screen has faded to gray, you can typically use the "Escape" key to return to the previous screen without losing data that may have been entered previously.

yup every time...

Nappy just looked at the code for that button "Recent Topics". It all looks good, it is just a Href. So not much can go wrong there.

how can I tell which browser I am using?

There are a few links not correct, easy fix but I haven't messed with them, concentrating on attachments + smileys, or pop-ups in general.

What does the icon look like that click on on your Desktop when you want to get on the internet?

If it looks like a blue e, then it is internet explorer.

In the top right hand corner of the internet explorer window there should be a little icon that looks like a gear. Click on the gear and a box will drop down with a bunch of other stuff to click on. Look for "About Internet Explorer" It should then pop up another box telling you the version.

What version are you using?

And in that same pop up box, is there a small box to click and put a check mark in for "Install new versions automatically"? If so, check that and let internet explorer do all the required updates.
