All of a sudden. 105 wheel horse. Start engine. Push down on foot pedal. Turn switch. Let off pedal ok. Push down on pedal.starter engages while engine is running.
I removed solenoid replace new. Just a standard 12,volt solenoid. Dose not operate as older solendoid.
Dose small engine parts only designed for small engines especially kohlers. I have never had this problem before...
thanks for your help

Morning Redone.
Sounds sorta like the ignition switch may be staying engaged in the start position when it's not supposed to. You can check that with a test light easily.

Geno, I had replaced my switch when we rebuilt the wiring harness. Actually I found a switch from a John Deere that works. (New.) I guess I'Ll have to go back to red painted one.

You can take a test light to the S terminal, the one at the top all by itself and see if the light goes out in the run position like it should. Also make sure that's the wire that goes to the start circuit.
I've talked to a lot of people in Iowa recently, are you one of them?
