Removing exhaust pipe

Looking to see what works best for getting these pipes out of the engine blocks. What has worked best for you guys?

I asked Sandra if she wanted a stack, she said "well duh". :rolling

Here's what we're working on -

Geno I've had good luck with an 18" Rigid pipe wrench. Easier to remove if the block is warmed up first and a little Kroil on the threads helps out too!

OK...here is what I do....I cut the pipe off about 1/2 inch away form the block.....then take a sawzall and cut the pipe at two places longwise....not quite through but enough to weaken the pipe wall....then take a punch and hammer it towards the inside.....

You ever try the big honkin pipe wrench Bob?

No....I was always afraid to break something......pipe is cheaper to me.....but give it try if you like....

Well duh.

I soaked mine for about 4 days with PB Blaster. Used a sharp chisel to break it loose. Worked but I was sweating all the while.

Warm it up and use the big Honker! :cents1

I've been putting PB Blaster on it for about 5 days. I got out the 2' pipe wrench and took a hammer to the end of it and gave it some hammer action and she came out. I like hammer action better than constant pressure, seems to break less things overall, sort of like an impact. Thanks for all the advise guys.

Now I'm off to start a stack thread to see what you all have done so Sandra can see them.
