i understand it now that guy was on to something.
he made it part of the safety system. or
this might be a rare wheelhorse test model proto type.
think about this:
if the belt brakes or jumps off the pulley, by design it gets warped up in the throttle cable
and shuts down the engine, this is pure genius!

This poor thing will take an extra day for sure... :doh The cable is already rerouted, I'm lucky it was long enough. I guess I lost the extra safety system though. :rolling

Just got a look at the photo of the throttle cable routing. Nothing surprises me when it comes to restoring something that has been around a while.
